Looking at getting a new camera, replacing powershot g2.

I want a Panasonic fz30, but am having a hard time finding one still new in box. I heard they are really special in their performance.I know they have been upgraded to a fz50, but I am hesitant to get the 50 because I know that some "upgrades" are not improvements over previous models.

I hear a lot of good things about the Sony H5, and I am a rank beginner when it comes to photography. I intend to really dwelve into digital photgraphy and make it a hobby. It seems like the Panasonic might be a better long term choice.

What do ya'll think???

Is there still places out there that have fz30's in stock???

FZ-50 in most ways is an upgrade, the only downside is a bit of increased noise and noise reduction.

However, being as it has RAW I'd say learn to shoot raw and only use JPEG when you need to shoot in bursts.
