will there be an upgrade s80?

Hi everyone. I am just wondering if there will be a new version of the S80? I really like the camera specs, especially as it is so small and has many manual options. But it is older, so I am wondering if someone knows if Cannon is making a new model of it ie. S90? or something. Thanks

i dont think so.. the S80 was the last in the series.. but then again canon could always revive the series :rolleyes: . however i havent heard of an upgrade in the near future :o

Do you happen to know of any other cameras that offer the same type of features as teh S80 does but is that small. I was looking at the A710? and the 6xx series, but I think those are just too big to be in my pockets comfortably.

Maybe G7?

It's 4.2 x 2.8 x 1.7 in. compared to S80 which is 4.1 x 2.2 x 1.5 in.

Not too much bigger, and you get a hotshoe from the extra .6" in height.

But the G7 weighs 95g more than the S80.

Yes, it is a bit heavy. Well, then just wait and hope for an S90?

I'm not that happy about the G7 either, but it's the only option available right now from Canon, for a small but good metal build quality and full featured camera.
