Just got my new camera last night. Decided to go sony as I already have a few minolta lenses from an old film camera. Went sony over canon for that and the way it felt in my hand. So far i'm very happy but it is only one day :D Anyone have any pointers for this noobie? Look forward to getting to know some of you guys.
Congratulations! Hope you enjoy your new camera. Can't give you any tips about the Alpha, but I'm a happy KM 7D owner who just wanted to say hello. :)

Hi,
While this is a GREAT site, there are better for Sony users. Check out:
http://www.dyxum.com
Forums, articles, and many Minolta lens reviews.
Also, http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1037 is a very active forum for Sony users.

Heya,
Im new to this site, as of today.
I recently purchased the Sony alpha a100 as well.
So far i love it. I got it for my upcoming trip to Italy, and becasue i have several Km lenses too. Lately i have been using it for my photography class assignments and i think it works well. Im pretty familiar with it by now, if you have any questions feel free to hit me up.

Welcome to the forum. I'm relatively new myself and from what I've been able to learn I can tell you it's a great place to get information and pick up tips. I think you'll find most dSLR users are from the Canon/Nikon families but they have a lot of experience and good information for someone getting into photography.
Have fun.
