Question: Can the Sony cameras such as the digital super zooms (H5) accept lens adapters/tele converters like the ones from "LensMatic", or the Sony and Canon tele converters?

Of course.

The H series takes 58mm accessories.

The VCL-dh1758 is one of the best tcons out there and matched to the H series cameras though it also does very well on the Canon S series..

And unlike the Canons, you get the adapter to mount the tcons/wcons/filters/closeup lenses with the camera not as a "buy later for more money" deal.
