Animated Gif

I've created a number of animated gifs from stills, all very simple stuff.
But I wanted to know how to create an animated gif from a video file.
Can it be done through Adobe image ready or another program?

Personally I use Animation shop that came with Paint Shop Pro .

It can load and rip frames from mpg and avi movies.

I see PSP 7 and 9 can currently be had complete with animation shop for less than £10 on the Uk ebay.. (original disks as well, not copies !)

So you could try your local ebay.
