Hi All,
I purchased a Canon A95 today, but keep getting a message upon turning the power on, that says "no memory card". I have tried inserting both the supplied card (Canon FC-32MH), as well as another one that I had purchased with the same order: a Fuji 512mb one. Neither one is being recognised. And, when I try to format the cards in the Setup menu, the actual Format option is grayed out!

Does it seem like a faulty camera? I would appreciate any help!

Thanks,
Sanjay

It does appear to be a return. Hopefully you bought it from a store, so it would be easy to return.

Thanks for the confirmation, George. I bought it through Amazon, so hopepully there shouldn't be a problem in returning and getting a replacement.

can you format the cards in a card reader just to see?

Hi Alnath,
Alas, I don't have a card-reader; I sent the camera back to Amazon yesterday and am awaiting the replacement. I hope this one proves to be problem-free.

By the way, I had a look at some of your photos; they look great, both artistically as well as in terms of quality.

Thanks,
Sanjay
