Hey Jeff you ready? Cards v Tigers - Classic matchup! STL v Det!

Well, I just wanted to say if the Tigers play how they played against the Yanks and As then the Cards played the way we played against the Mets - we're getting our a$$es kicked. But, hopefully its a good series!!! Catch ya after it over. . . .

GO CARDS!

Personally, I feel like a "squeeze play" at SECOND, here in Chicago.

We're going to have all these other fans going back and forth, through O'Hare and the Interstate system. Don't forget to wave as you go by... the well-tromped Cubs @ Wrigley Field :D
16576

and the "undefeated" Bears, down @ the "spaceship" in Soldier Field!
16577

Yeah, I'll cover SECOND, this week! LOL Go CARGERS! or is it Tiginals? Whatever! Go Team! Or as they say in the last two words of the Star Spangled Banner... "Play Ball!"

Cards v Tigers - Classic matchup! STL v Det!

Should be a great Series! Reminds me of the 1982 "Suds Series"... Cards vs. Brewers - Now that was a great Series!! Hope this one's as good.

Well Andy, you get game one!!! I would agree, if the Tig's play like they have during the regular season, it may not be a fun series. HOWEVER, if they continue to play like they did in game one... it's over already!

MAN, I was 14 the last time they made it. None the less, it will be a fun watch.

Should we have a bet going Andy???

The company I work for took the whole region to game earlier in the year. Snapped this one at sunset.

Thanks JMB. I should move it to a public location on my site so it is accessible and purchasable. The game it was taken at was a perfect baseball night on September 16th.

WOW!!! SWEET edit. Tell me what you did...adjust levels??? I noticed you brought up the interior of the stadium but very little to no change in the sky.

I am still struggling with CS2 beyond doing the very basic. Can you give me the details???

Thanks!!

Thanks Peter. Seems like I "should" be able to make a little $$ off it over the next week or so if I can get the link to pop in some searches.

I know it's not a very "highly" regarded lens, but it was taken the the 28-135. For the $325ish I paid for it on ebay, I have gotten some good stuff out of it.

Yup, adjusted the levels as you guessed.

Open in CS2, then make a new copy layer (Ctrl-J). In the Layer window, you should see a new copy of the original image (also called Background) called Layer 1. With that layer selected, adjust the levels as you please.

Then add a layer mask (http://www.uwec.edu/help/PhotoshopCS2/masking.htm) on that layer, and paint Black over the sky to hide ("mask") the levels adjustment you did.

If you overshoot anything, just switch to White to undo the Black paint. BTW when you're painting the mask, you'll notice that the mask icon next to the layer entry in the Layer window is selected (has a white border around it). Otherwise, if it's not, you'd be painting on the layer directly which isn't what you want.

Then select the Flatten Image option to combine them into one image again and save.

GEEZE - Rain out!!!

Andy, you got your waders out? Here they are saying your gonna have run until late Friday.

Looks like we only have a 30% chance of rain here until about 9pm then it jumps to 60% with t-storms. They may be able to get a few innings in. It has not rained today as of yet, and I am about 25 miles east of the stadium. So Go Detroit…(because I am a Red Sox fan, and hate the Red Birds) although they have a great new stadium.

throw it to first, throw it to first
SH** he though it to the outfielder... What is his problem...
Just like having a good camera doesn’t make you a great Camera Man,
Having the ball in the World Series doesn’t make you a good pitcher.
4 errors producing 5 unearned runs will kill you. Kind of like opening up that old SLR exposing the film from your highest paying job yet….

Speaking of last night's game, did any of you catch some of the brief close-ish crowd shots during the last 1/3 of the game? For a brief second there appeared to be a guy in the crowd with a pretty serious camera set up. I'm no lens expert, but it looked like it was a quite large Canon telephoto / telephoto zoom, with a lens hood (their whiteish/gray lenses).

It looked pretty cool. :D Wouldn't have happened to have been anyone on here, would it? ;)

JMWallace

I saw that too. He appeared at that point taking random shots of the crowd. Just holding it up and snapping. I didn't get a good look at the body, but I think it was a 70-200. It looks mad-impressive with that hood and everything loaded on!!!

As far as the game goes...my faith is waning. Hopefully, Andy is out with his rig ready to grab some shots downtown after the game tonight.

All in all, i think the mistake was not putting Rogers on the mond in STL.

Glad I didn't throw a bet out there Andy!!! They definately out played Detroit!

2006 World Series Champions

:D

The screwed the MVP up though - It should have gone to Yadier Molina for how he played the entire post season!

Thanks Toney!

I guess its only fitting that the STL Cardinals and the DET tigers finished the season #1 and #2 respectively - As we both are #1 and #2 in the country for most dangerous cities to live - MSNBC Article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15475741/)

Congrats Andy. I don't know if I'll get bashed for this on not but I was pulling for THE YANKEES!!! I've been a fan since I new how to hold a ball. I guess I was pulling for the Tigers since they hadn't won it in a while. I believe Tony La Rusa could take the school for the blind and win. Anyway congrats!!!

However Andy, I did not hear of one VW Bug turned over for a CAR-B-Q this weekend. What is up with that? I expected more. In fact I was downtown on Saturday night for the Blues Game and all seam normal. "Most Dangerous City" yea right, we had the chance to prove it and failed. I remember when Detroit won the NBA championship some time ago and they burn there city down, now that was good stuff.
