I've been doing alot of searching, and I'm thinking if I'm gonna pick up a new DSLR, I should try to go with something that can handle higher ISO's. Why? I'll be taking pictures at motorsport events, and I want something that'll make panning shots look nice, even if a customer wants a poster of their car.
However, due to "Search" limitations, I can find an accurate comparison of an almost two year old 20D to a month or two old XTi(400D).
So how do they compare?
I've got big hands, so im slightly worried of the smaller XTi's ergonomics.

Performance wise, pretty much equal. Handle a 30D in a store and you're handling a 20D. They're nearly identical. Handle an XTi and an XT and they're pretty much identical.
Hold both, shoot a couple frames with both, buy the one that feels better to you.

I have large hands myself, I find that my middle finger hits the body (my 20D) right where the lens mounts. fingernail marks on the black body :( its not that big of a deal.. i guess

Depends on how many fps second you want too. If you are shooting moter events, you might want 5, which would be the 20D.

I messed around with a Rebel XT and held a 20D. Odd how they are so diffrent in feel. The XT/XTi are really light and compact compared to the 20D.
I also played with a Sony A100 and a Oly E500. The E500 was a bit confusing. I need time with all of the players before making a choice.
I have the XT and now that I have got used to it, it seems pretty decent. The focus seems to have improved so whether that's me getting better at handling AF, I don't know.
If you want to make the XT bigger then get a battery grip. That'll give you place for 2 batteries which is rather useful as it doubles the battery life.
In terms of FPS I have never had a problem. On the other hand I rarely shoot on continuous.
I have small hands and I hate how the XT felt in my hands. I had the 300D with a battery grip and loved it. I bought the 20D and bought the battery grip within a week. Feels better, better balance. IMHO of course;) . Performance wise as stated above, not much difference. I just like the feel of 20D better.
