The picture is nice and sharp and I find that I am drawn to the gal on the TV set in B&W, yet framed with the yellowish type lighting. As a positive critique let me include some things I think would make this picture better...

The telephone cord is distractive. I know that it can be look at as a leading line, but what is the main subject here? The cord or the gal on the screen? I would prefer the TV, so in this case the telephone cord is distracting.

Also, the lighting is too yellow for me. If you shot in RAW, a little WB control could take care of that for you in a snap.

For an abstract image, this fits right in the category.

Overall, great job with this one. Keep posting for critique! You will only get better!

I like the chord, it tells the story of what is happening.

Gives the picture a place so to speak

This is a very interesting picture. It is definitely a nice and sharp abstract. I agree that it would have been even better without the telephone cord but at the same time this does give an interesting context. As far as the lighting I think that it is fine because that also adds to the context. Good job! I really like it.

Thank you all!

The phone cord is important for the story: it suggests that the girl is talking to someone... and it's important for the composition: it follows the diagonal line, it fills the dark area on the left, it gives depth...
