LOL, we went to a market for 2 reasons
1. to buy some produce, duh
2. To get some pics of my sisters oldest daughter 5y.o
Both tasks were accomplished, but I cannot share the pics of my sisters daughter as she is uncomfrtable with me posting them on the net.
Don, I was impressed with the noise of the XT @ ISO1600, as you say the exposure is the key!

That's cool. Completely understandable about the 5 year old. Yeah the 350D/XT does quite well at high ISO as long as you nail it...same goes for pretty much the entire Canon lineup as far as I've seen.

nice shot.
isn't it funny how people are weirded out by their pics on the net...but if it was on the front page of a newspaper site(that probably gets millions of hits) they'd be more than happy to have it on there.

Because the average person (Read: idiot) thinks their kids are safe unless "some pedophile" gets a picture of them. They don't quite understand that pedophiles don't flip threw a photo albumn to pick which child to kidnap.
It's "security" for america. Much like taking off your shoes in airport, it has NO effect on how likly it is your plane will blow up but everyone feels better about it.

I agree there is a bit of paranoia around the whole "photos of my child on the internet" thing. But 1) I'm also not a parent and 2) I think it's just good etiquette/respectful to ask parents for their permission before posting photos of their kids since they may have other reasons for not wanting the photos on-line. For instance, when I did Katelyn's photos (http://imageevent.com/24peter/katelyn15months) even though she's family I waited for her mom and dad to sign off before I put the gallery on-line.
As for the whole "security in America" thing, don't get me started on that. But I do note that forno is based in Australia, so it's not just us Americans anymore. I think the whole world is a little over the top when it comes to being afraid of each other. :(

Nice picture and good exposure,
The only suggestion I have is to crop in a little tighter around your parents, the people in the background (especially the guy over your moms head) is very distracting...

Glad to hear I am not the only one affected by camera-scatter-itis. Which is preceeded by rolling-eyes-itis at just the mention. Something similiar to rolling-eyes-itis occurs when I get on the computer and enter the post processing time warp.

Agreed on the respect issue thats why I asked, and really when you boil it down its not about someone taking your kid, its about who does what with the pic. Not my decision in the end either;)

Dont really want to enter into a political debate, but I am certainly pissed at the way our two captains are behaving in the world and domestically and I dont want to be on their team:D
