Hi, Does anyone know if rechargeable NimH batteries would set off a metal detector if I had to go through one like at a concert?
Thanks for your help. It would be great if anyone could reply by tomorrow.

Yeah they would. The casing is metal and the inside (Nickel Metal hydride) is metal.
EVen pencils will be detected as the graphite is a metal.
Graphite is NOT a metal. Graphite is form of pure carbon (similar to diamond). And carbon is definitely not a metal. All the organic forms of life on this planet are made of carbohydrates.....you wanna tell me, I'm made of metal?

Well... technically... you've got iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, sodium, copper, chromium, and others in your body at all times and all of those are metals... so yes... yes you are. hehe
Well yep, in a way, you're right but generally these metals appear in our body only as trace elements so their total ammount is close to zero. But I don't argue about their importance... so yes...you're right...
Anyway what I wanted to say is that carbon is NOT a metal, which you can't disagree with ;)
