Hi,
I have just ordered a Canon S3 IS and I'm now looking for close up lens (since I'm doing lot of macro)
I have read a bit about those "lens" and still have some question.
1. As far as I understand, a close up lens have a very limited focus range. For example, I was looking for the Raynox 250 which is a diopter 8 I think. With that lens, I would have to be about 10 to 12cm away of the subject. Not more, not less. Am I right ?
2. If it's true, wouldn't a kit of Hoya +1 +2 +4 be more useful ? (giving more flexibility of the distance I take the shot)
3. When you combine the diopter lens, does it influence the light captured? Like a Polarizer filter that ask you to be 1 or 2 stop lower for the same exposure, is it the same with close up lens ?
4. Anything against Hoya lens ? I used their filter before with good result, but I haven't found much info on the close up lens set.
Thanks for your info / suggestions.
