No no, I walked the track this year. I usually do ride though. The race is four hours and each lap takes about 25 min.

Yeah, the first one looks really good. I'd be terrified to take a camera there though! With all the mud flying..

I would turn the camera behind my back when the mud was flying. It did however almost get runover! I put the camera down on the ground off the track to help a guy who had gotten stuck when a racer came down the track swerved to miss us and came within inches of my camera... I almost had a hartattack!!!
It is going to need a very good cleaning though!!

Nick - nice shots. Were you intentionally choosing the slow shutter speed (1/50th - 1/60th) for some of them?

Ya, they aren't moveing that fast so to get motion blur I had to decrease the shutter speed.

i like #2. also one of those rare occasions where i would think about using my UV filter
