Nice shots.

I assume you are enjoying the Tamron 17-50; the constant f2.8 must be nice.

I am debating between this lens and the Sigma 17-70 as my "walk around" kit lens replacement.

Took this one on my way home from work....camera is always at my side!!!!

I think the polarizer made the top of this tree look odd though....is that CA?

Michael - your photos are very nice - beautiful in fact. But you hijacked poor Quack's thread. :( He's gonna get a complex! ;)
Quack - your's are very nice. Can we see them a little larger?

You've gotta give Michael credit for his very thorogh hijack job with that many pictures. It wasn't until your post that I realized it was someone elses thread :)

Great photographs from both of you. I was going to go up to Tanglewood next week to shoot but if you can post some more photos (please include Lenox & Stockbridge) so I can stay home :D

You guys are right - sorry to hijack your thread Quack.....I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to add to your MA shots. In about 6 weeks the outdoor photography here will be much more challenging - I'm shooting all that I can lately!!

Quack, I would love to see some more shots with yourTammy!!

Great photos.
I have never seen tree leaves changing color in Fall season until now. It is quite unique. Now, I can understand why there are leaf watchers who go state to state for that beatiful season change.
I had never seen a apple that is changing color from green to red until now.

Thanks a bunch, michaelb

anyone know of any comparisons between this lens and....say, the 24-70 2.8L??? i know it's a stretch, but i'd almost be willing to sell mine to get this lens to put the extra money toward my dream 70-200 f/2.8 IS if it is close enough to the same....how is the autofocusing with this lens?

Quack211
10-13-2006, 02:55 PM
The autofocusing is fast but a bit loud. I've had it for about 5 weeks and love it.IMO worth every cent. ($449.@ B&H)

Great shots! Can I play? I'm so jelous of that wide angle lens! The widest I can go is 28mm:( I'm saving for the 16-35mm F2.8. Or I might get the 50mm F1.2 ...... what the hell I'll get both :p

I have ya know, Parmley... the world could be worse off.

All you have to do is consider the impact of what Buffalo went through... and the images you could be pulling out of there with a TAmROn SP AF17-50mm f/2.8 XR DiII LD Aspherical (IF) lens. I am seriously happy this did not occur in Chicago. I don't even know where the darn snow shovel is... or the key for the snow thrower, for that matter.

16360

And you thought your Summer electrical St. Louie storms were exciting... this is back-breaking! (and tree-snapping snow)

Heck, the sheer weight of the snow on the tail surfaces even lifted the nose of this commercial jet into the air! ("Where's my own camera?")
16361

Yeah, this is the height of the Fall-colors... and that color is now pristene WHITE!
