Just a question regarding the pricing on this and other cameras. Has anybody else noticed this? I've been watching the prices on this particular make and model and since last week it has gome up something like $20. Is it the holidays are coming and the supply vs. the demand thing? You know, I hate to spend the extra $$$ but if I want it, I guess I have to pay, right?

I noticed that the Dell for Home site has the S3 for 319.00 right now. I have also noticed pricing jumping around. there is also a Forum (which you might be aware of) Where should I buy a camera on this site. it has lists of companies and ratings. I know Beach Camera had it listed at 338 or so but for some reason its not listed at all right now....maybe out of stock.

The cost was $439.00 when I puchased mine and it was and is worth every penny. You're getting a good price on a fantastic camera, find somewhere reputable, buy it and have fun.

I bought mine about 3 weeks back for around $330. I noticed that the price of this camera dropping over the last 2 months; but why? I don't see S4 anywhere in the horizon, is it because of the G7? (but G7 is not an ultra zoom camera  )

Personally I think anything around $350 is a really good price for this camera.

My S3 cost me $547 AUD down here in Oz. That was the cheapest I could get it for a few weeks ago.

That equates to $411 USD.

What store or web site are you looking at? Yes the price can fluctuate by $20 or more. Last week at Circuity City the S3 was $360 now it's $399. It may go down to $360 again next week. Stores do that.

The base retail price was $500 when the S3 was released and it fell to $400 Labor Day weekend. This is the base price most places sell it for, but many offer it for less than retail.

I bought mine from Dell today with the $319 price and tax, it's $341.35 (LA, CA tax). It is supposed to ship by Tuesday so I'll let you all know if I get it on time some time next week. I'm excitedly waiting, my S1 broke (CCD died) a few weeks ago and I'm itching to have this major upgrade!!!
