Hmm and the Sigma 70-200 is $200 less. Does 10mm extra length really justify an extra $200?

I hear it's suppose to have AFS and VR equivalents, but for that price, it doesn't seem like it's going to. Probably just the AFS.

After some research, I have found that TAmROn produced this lens several years ago (on the order of ten). Yes, a fine f/2.8 70-210mm lens for 35-mm film.

This one is not designed for digital at all. It will probably need the XR element and the Di coating to correct for digital sensors... which means... yeah, you guessed it... redesign. It will probably also need the focusing circuit card replaced with an upgrade to work with the digital focusing systems. The 35mm-film lenses seem to have focus issues with the newer cameras. I went through this, back in March, with my TAmROn SP AF28-105mm f/2.8 LD lens.

I still think they are waiting for some reason... I'm betting on some kind of image stability feature included in the next release. The market seems to clamor for it.

This is a rough time to bring products to the stage. Personally, I still think if TAmROn released a solid 50-300mm f/2.8 lens, they'd have it covered. Between the 17-50mm f/2.8 and a 50-300mm f/2.8... you have to know the world would open up to it. :D

What I found was the TAmROn SP AF70-210mm f/2.8 LD (47.3 oz)

what I am still looking for is the TAmROn SP AF70-210mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) (25-30 oz)...

for Christmas! LOL :D

If they make a 50-300 f2.8 it's gonna cost a lot of money. Sigma makes a 100-300 f4 and that lens costs $1350.
