Hello all,

Thank you for all the great info. I am purchasing an S3 and have some questions.

1: What is needed to be able to add a linear polarization filter?
2: What is needed to be able to add a Wide Angle Lense?
3: If I do research will whatever is needed work for both (assuming something is needed)?

4: Which of these items is recommended. I would like to not spend all my savings, but I do not like getting an intro version, and then upgrade later (spending more money in the process).

5: I also asked in a different thread if anyone has a recommendation on the memory card to use, please feel free to answer here as well.

Thanks in advance.

Don

well, I just got mine on Saturday, so I'm in the same boat as you.

But I'd suggest getting an LCD protector skin. I got mine from this site - http://www.cutecamcase.com/lcd.html?#0

I'm sure you already know, but the S3 will need the 2.0" LCD protector.

I bought a 2.5" protector for my SD700 from them and it fit perfectly, and if the screen ever looks scratched and dull, I can pull the old protector off and put on a new one while the actual LCD will always look like new underneath (great for resale value).

Thanks, that is a great idea.

I also have found some accessory threads, and there are some varying opinions out there.

if you do not mind me asking... Where did you get yours? Online? and if so, Did you like the company?

Why do you need that? ive yet to see a damaged LCD on an S2 or S3. If you dont rotate the lens around so its covered when your done using the camer and it gets damaged your a fool and Mr. T is looking for you. pitty

I touch it from time to time but i seldom clean it so it seems like a waste of money for the LCD protector. Its your money though

i agree with karl (truflip)... i barely use the screen. when i do, it is usually to show other people the pictures. other than that, i use the electronic viewfinder to compose my shots. also, it adds to the stabilization of the entire camera

I never had a problem with it open and I use it 95% it pretty much stays that way; whether it's in or out of the case. but to each his own a lot of people argue ther's no need to protect the lens with a UV filter. If you give your LCD screens a hard time by all means protect it.;) That would be the prudent thing to do. btw congrats and look forward to seeing some pics in the "Some S3 Pics" thread.:)
