When I connect my cam, it appears a dialog which requests me to install driver for Canon S2 IS. But, in fact, I cannot find the driver anywhere, even on the Internet so I can not use my camera at all. Please help me. Thank you

Have you set the camera to PTP mode ?

If that still asks for a driver, try usb mass storage if available as an option on the camera.

Actually, I am newbie to all of this. I do not know how to active the PTP mode of my cam. Can you give me some hints please?

Strange, according to the manual as soon as you connect the camera to a Xp box the camera should connect automatically without installing anything else.

You could try fully installing the supplied software and using it to upload the pictures, when the software is installed and the camera connected the Canon CameraWindow should be selected or if that dialog does not pop up then from your start menu , find the Canon Utilities- CameraWindow and select CameraWindow.

If that has already been installed then uninstall the software and run the MS scanner and camera wizard, see if the camera is listed, select it and delete it, reboot and reinstall everything.

I am assuming the camera is switched on while the usb connection is attempted and you are connecting directly to a usb port, not via a usb hub.

If all else fails and you don't want to mess around too much with your computer, just buy an inexpensive SD card reader. That will solve lots of headache and potential wears and tears to the camera socket; not to mention being able to download your image anywhere without having to carry around the cable, CD; etc.

Is there any driver available for Windows XP? I installed a <a href="http://www.nliteos.com>cut XP</a> and may be, I missed the driver for Canon. I searched and no result was returned for XP driver of S2 IS.

Thank you and actually, I thought of this solution :)
