I currently have an SD550 that I'm very happy with. But I've been thinking of getting the IS800 when it comes out due to the image stabilization. The only thing from preventing me so far is the flash distance, 15 ft for the 550 and 11 ft for the 800. Am I just knitpicking. Can you guys share your opinions? Thanks.

before you pick up the SD800 IS, goto dpreview.com and read about it on the forums. Personally, I bought the SD800 IS because I thought it was an upgrade from my SD700IS, boy was I wrong! I just returned the SD800IS today for the SD900.

hmm the IS800 does seem cool, esp with the new telephoto ability. i had a sd700 and while the IS did help out a lot, in some pictures, esp manual some pictures STILL came out blurred. go figure! i just think it has to do with you having a steady hand...

The SD550 is a solid camera --- some pictures come out WAAAY better than the sd700 (even w/o the IS on it). i think the flash distance is a very important thing to consider so def think about it before switching ur camera.
