After reading all the negative reviews and opinions about the 800 on Dpreview.com I have decided to return the 800 to pick up the 900.
Right from the box when I started taking pictures with the SD800, I noticed the picture quality wasn't all that great. Surprisingly from a 7.1 megapixel vs 6 megapixel camera, my 700 took better pictures.
I gave the SD800 a whole week to make me happy, after taking a few hundred photos, I found it very inconsistent to take good quality pictures. So this left me with a feeling of discomfort knowing if I needed to take good pictures of something, I will most likely have to fight with the camera - no way in hell am I going to spend 400+ dollars for a camera just to compromise; I was better off with my handy SD700.
So now I have the SD900 in my hands and she is ready for testing :)
I'll keep you guys appraised...
IMO and I'm sure many would agree, the SD800 IS is somewhat of a step back for Canon - very dissapointed.
