i have an idea just a while ago after taking a sh*t from the toilet with my photography magazine :D

what if one day nikon and canon merge together and produce a canon-nikon SLR camera which fits all kinds of lenses including olympus, alpha, fuji, etc etc, like a universal fit... that will definitely kill all the SLR in the market...

The question is, who will be the president of this joint firm, the canon or the nikon one? :D

Which ever company would merge or buy the other one out would definately dominate the slr market. It would be interesting to see if they would make one lens mount. This would really open up the possible range of lense choice.

This all does not make sense. All lens mounts are differentm different AF systems, different aperture set systems, different motor configurations. You acn not make a camera that can deal with all lenses, if you only look at the motor systems.

So, you can't use older lenses from other systems. If everyone for instance would start using Canon EF mount lenses, then of course everything would work with everything. But for that you do not have to develop a new mount, nor do you have to merge companies.

hehe just an idea... what if techonlogy makes all the motor systme and AF possible for one lens mount all together... i mean we really can't say as technology these days really grow so fast isnt it?

i hope i could live untill that day to see this happen, if ever... :D
