Is there a weekly picture contest thread?

im nto sure if there is something like this.
we did it like this at a a forum but with signatures.
it went mon-fri saturday was voting and sunday the winner was announced and has to pick the topic for the next week.
We could do soemthing like this only have a few rules like no DSLR so those slrs cant beat us s3 users.
entries must be posted mon-fri then saturday would be voting and sunday winner pick new topic. sound good anyone?

i like the idea of this because i like a bit of pressure to do better on the next set of pics.. weekly challenge threads are good for the learning experience but i feel a bit bored just taking shots of w/e.. i wanna see pictures that are better than mine.. so then i can push myself to try different things n take better pictures somehow.. its my style.. i guess im just competitive :o

Yes were in week 104 and if we can get enough people liking the idea we can get it going next week. and thanxs truflip i can count on youv involvement :)

As truflip noted we already have a bimonthly challenge which is continuously going on and has been adjusted to meet the needs of this section. While I'm not knocking your idea it is divisive in that it excludes dSLRs. And is some what repetitive in light of some of the already pre-existing threads. I'd have to pass for now on this one.

thats a sweet idea! i just submitted my first contest picture, truflip is right i think it would definately make everyone better, by pressuring them for lack of a better term.
