Hey all,
Two weeks ago I started the hunt for a digital camera, my first, and I have finally been able to get down to these two models. I have not had a chance to hold the S60 because all the stores in my area only carry the S70. I like the way the S70 feels, so I hope the S60 is similar. The A95 seems very capable as well, and it seems to have more photo scene options for pictures than the S60, but lacks the wide-angle lens.
I am buying tomorrow, so if anyone could nudge me in either direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brett

I am a owner of the A95...
But very simply said, if you have held the S70 and the A95... And you felt more comfortable with the S70... Then don't hesitate go for the S60, its a great little camera; so is the A95, but you seem to like the wide angle, the size and the shape of the S60 :)
Here my take:
A95 pluses:
Batteries, can be purchased anywhere in a pinch
rotating LCD
internal lens cover, l personally like this better than the sliding cover
S60 pluses:
different size, I personally the brick like shape
built like a tank
true wide angle lens (28mm equiv.)
A95 minuses
maybe not built as stoutly
AA batteries, plus and a minus, you have to buy your own rechargebles
only semi wide lens (38mm equiv.)
S60
lcd exposed
sliding cover for lens, although this might provide more protection
proprietary battery, recharger needed
Both cameras will take fine pictures, they have nearly the same feature set, it comes down to size, lens focal length, and fixed or rotating lcd, for the most part. I own a G2 and used to own an S30 I never had any problems with either of them. I do like the rotating screen on the G2, and I would have a hard time making the decision you are making. I think you will be happy with either camera. :) If I were making this decision, I would probably be looking at the G6 or G5 :o , all of the features of both cameras in a slightly larger package  .

I had the same problem - s60 or A95?
For me the A95 was the choice - cheaper batteries, with lens adapter even more wide angle then the S60, cheaper overall and - the swivel display! Depends on how you use your camera.

S60 also has a lens adapter avaliable.

Actually, I felt the S60 have more functionalities. True, A95 has more scenes to choose from, but S60 has more advanced features like 2nd curtain flash, and recording in RAW mode.
I like using rechargeable batteries since I don't need to spend money on extra batteries and it's better for the environment.
I'd say it depends on what type of pictures you're taking. For most family, casual pictures, A95 should be good. But if you like to experiment or post process pictures, S60 is a better choice.
