TAmROn's nod and wink concerning their...

SP AF70-210mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)

seems to be just smoke and mirrors. The correspondence I exchanged with them concerning this lens had alway been "wait and see", which of course... is not a "NO!" nor is it a "YES"...

So, when are they going to release it? You got me... I figured this to be a done deal, since this May, but apparently something is not ready, yet. I apologize for building up the anticipation for what should be a wonderful addition to their product line. :o Perhaps they are actually considering the addition of some type of lens stability system. It was talked about, but they admitted (back in May) that it was "not ready for prime-time", yet. With SIGMA adding OS to the 18-200, I'm sure some serious thinking is going into their entire lens line.

The one thing I am sure of was I wasn't the only one waiting for this release.

Anyway... it's the final day of Photokina... I no longer am holding out any hope of surprise and I guess I'm stuck with my Canon EF 70-200m f/2.8L IS USM. A rough life it is, sometimes.
