Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
$550 MAX
Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
Does not matter
Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
I had read on one site that 35MM photos ranged from 8 to 20 Meg. I guess depending on the quality camera you have. I own a cheap 35mm ( Canon 115u ) now and would like to have quality equal to or better. 6,7,8,9 ?????
* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
Again I would atleast like to match what I have now 38 -115mm but would love to do better.
* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
8-10
Do you care for manual controls?
No seeing I would not know how to use them at this time. If they were there I would try to use them.
General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for?
Pictures of family, Vacations, Beach and some limited night photos. Going to Disney and North Georgia for a couple of weeks in December and would like some good pics.
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
8 x 10 Max..
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
I would say yes. Especially of my daughter. Probably a lot of school program stuff in the future,
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
Some baseball games for my nephews
Miscellaneous
Are there particular brands you like or hate?
No.
Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Canon A710, S3 Si, G7 and FinePix S9000
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
Image Stabilization a must and possibly a wide angle lens add on.
Note:
Thanks for all the input it is very much appreciated.
