I guess I want it all!
Budget
* $400, but can go a little over for the "perfect camera"
Size
* My current camera is approximately 4"x3"x3.5" (Kodak DX6490). Would prefer smaller, but defintely not larger.
Features
* 6 megapixels or greater (the higher the better, right?)
* Ultrazoom 10x optical or greater
* Image quality = 9
Do you care for manual controls? Not really, although I probably should learn.
General Usage
* I am an artist. I love taking good photos (maybe even for showing) and also use them as reference for paintings. I primarily take wildlife photos and need good macro shots (bug close-ups) as well as good ultrazoom photos (face of the fox in the distance). I also have a reef aquarium and would like to get some macro shots of the corals.
* Will make 8x10 prints for sure, possibly larger.
* Yes low light (dusk) photos.
* Yes action shots of animals, birds, etc.
Miscellaneous
* No brand loyalty. I like my Kodak, but can't get good macro shots.
* Models I'm considering are: Nikon Coolpix S10, Sony CyberShot DSC-H2, Canon PowerShot S2-IS, but I'm open to suggestions.
* I need Image Stabilization. Weatherproof would be nice, but not necessary.
