What is the best method for cleaning the lens on my S3 should I get stuff on it ? Is water and a cloth enough as I do not want to damage it.
Thanks

A micro fiber cloth. I think they have kits with a brush and a cloth and some spray or somthing. I would think like cloth for reading glasses would be good too.
Im thinking about getting a kit or somthing at walmart they have an eyeglass shop i thought maybe they would have somthign in there i could get.
Sometimes i dont need to wipe it but blowing it off. Dust seems to cling to the glass like a magnet.

No water!
Ethanol, Everclear, Methanol or any pure alcohol product. If you can't get/don't have that, a good lens cleaning solution is the Kodak (ignore the B.S. bad review from that one person):

Only use an un-treated micro fiber cloth such as this:

Search through the threads on this forum on adapters and filters and gather info on lens protection so you can avoid the problem to begin with...it's all in the threads on this forum...

Here ya go everything you could need or want. ;)
http://www.2filter.com/prices/ccdcleaning.html (http://www.2filter.com/prices/ccdcleaning.html)
I've picked up from them:
Lens cloth
Optical tissue (the only thing I've had a need to use so far- only used on filter and LCD)
Formula MC
Lens Pen
Q-Ball sm. (works nicely - removes dust)
To echo JTL an adapter and UV filter will serve you well. :) hth

Cheap starter kit :p

And I second the search for filters & adapters ;)

Looks like its just isopropanol (can't see a %) so should be fine as long as its properly distilled.

I always carry a pint of cleaning fluid in my bag dont you?
Hey, it puts the fun in photography! Honestly, though, you will not find a better cleaner.
Never use "rubbing alcohol" as many brands actually contain lubricants and make the lens worse! Also, many commercial lens cleaning fluids have detergents in them that leave streaks and deposits. I remember cleaning a lens with some no-name kit cleaner, only to have it be worse, and cleaning it again and again. I quickly learned that no impurities was the way to go. I have also read that isopropyl alcohol works without ill-effects and I have used it as well...
And, those anti-static cloths are treated and leave a film on your lens surface. I avoid them like the plague...

I knew I wasn't supposed to do it this way: I was on the beach about 2 weeks ago shooting for about an hour. It was windy and I later found a layer of stuff on the Hoya filter - dust or sand or salt or whatever in the air laid a fairly thick film on the filter. I only brought a lens pen with me and the pen just messed it up further. In desparate, I had to use a tissue wet with tap water, wiped off the stuff, then cleaned the residue of tap water with the lens pen. There was still a little dot near the edge I couldn't get rid of, probably a permanent damage of the coating from touching something while shooting supermaco, ouch.
