Just want to specify that I'm looking for a digital camera to take quality everyday pictures at a decent price.

Budget

Preferably under $100.00 (I know that's not much)

Size

The smaller the better but this is really the least of my concerns.

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?

I know the higher the MP the better but I'm not sure the exact visual improvement a 5MP would offer over a 3MP. Naturally, I'd like 5MP or more.

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)

As high as I can get? No certain zoom needed, just so long as it does its job.

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)

10...its a camera...how could the one thing it does not be important to me :P

Do you care for manual controls?

Not sure what they are.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?

Pictures of friends, taking it to college football games etc. Nothing over the top, I'd just like a good, portable camera that's easy to use and takes good pictures.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?

Highly doubtful, mostly just putting the pictures on my computer.

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?

Indoor and outdoor.

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?

Yes.

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?

I remember always hearing that Cannon and Kodak are good, especially Cannon, but I really know shit about it. I honestly don't care if its a brand I've never heard of, so long as its what I listed above and you guys think its a good camera that will last and won't take shitty pictures or break in a couple months.

Are there particular models you already have in mind?

Nope.

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)

Not gonna lie, waterproof would be sexy but none of these are necessary for me.

Under $100 is going to be really hard to do. There are a few models that come close, but add in rechargable batteries and a good-sized memory card and you'll be at least in the $150 range.

Image quality is not just whether the camera takes the photo or not. If you are going to be making 4x6 prints or putting the shots on eBay, image quality is not a major concern. If you are printing poster sized images or art-house prints, image quality can be a major concern. Either way, you're not going to get amazing image quality for $100.

If you are willing to push your price to $200 you get a lot more options. Something like the Canon A530 you can get a nice camera with good manual controls and buy a nice memory card and NiMH rechargable batteries.

Canon PowerShot A430 (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraDetail.php?cam=852) is a little over $100.
