DCRP listing of F31fd (Full manual controls) stated Full manual controls. Can that possibly be a mistake? Unless full manual controls in this context means something else. According to brochure from Fuji, F31 manual modes are • Program AE, • Aperture Priority • Shutter Priority. The same in DPREVIEW.
Can you clarify, Jeff? That knob with camera symbol sign with M on it is really Program AE on F30 and that is the case with F31fd I believe; misleading as it is.

Thanks for clarification.
If • Program AE, • Aperture Priority • Shutter Priority means FULL MANUAL CONTROLS then there is no mistake. But I wonder how anyone can distinguise between a camera with full manual control (P, A and S) with one that has P, A, S and M modes? This is not the first time I got stumped.

Don't you think that full manual implies that you can set both shutter speed and aperature manually at the same time? If something is always being calculated automatically, doesn't that count as at least somewhat automatic?
And "fulll" probably implies a manual focus mode too, not that that's very useful on this type of camera.
