I just bought an A95 a couple of weeks ago and I seem to be having the same problems that I was having with my old A60. After two or three pictures the battery light will come on and the lcd will display to change batteries, even though its new batteries and a new cf card. My a60 did the same thing at the end of its long life. I can't find anything anywhere where someone has had even remotely the same problem. Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using AA Alkalines... don't. Get a set of rechargable AA NiMH and a good charger (like the MAHA C204W). The NiMH AA batteries you buy should be rated at 2000mAh or greater. You can find the batteries just about everywhere (i.e. Wal Mart, Target, Costco, etc) Or the charger and batteries on-line at:

If you ARE already using NiMH AA's then maybe it's time for a new set. They don't last forever. And if they are cheap NiMH's then they will definately need to be replaced.

A set of 2100mAh Ni-Mh rechargables in my A80 would go on for 300 or 400 shots so George Riehms advice is very worthy indeed.

I have trie with ni-hm and with duracell right out of the package. It's weird battery drains after no more than three pictures( six or seven with lcd closed)

I'd suggest you return the camera it might be a problem with it... not sure what it could be...

I bought an A95 a little more than a month ago... While the batteries that came with it didn't last long... about 40 shots with LCD on and more than 50% flash use, its much longer than 3-7 shots.... Somehow, when I put those batteries in my discman they are still full, so I'm keeping them as spare :)
And my NiMH batteries lasted well over 200 shots on their first use. So that's the kind of performance u should be expecting from the camera.
