For just basic lens protection, is there any need for a Hoya Standard Coated UV Filter or is just a Hoya UV Filter more than sufficient?

Most people say a multicoated filter is better, but I doubt if there is much difference.
Have a look here

Based on 62mm Hoya filters.

Standard Double Coated - has a single coating on both sides, mount depth of 5mm for filters and 9mm depth for polarisers

HMC Multicoated - has four layers of coating on both sides, light transmission to 97% and a 5mm mount depth

Pro-1 super-multicoated - has twelve layers of coating on both sides, light transmission to 99.7% and a 3mm mount depth. Enables use without vignetting with the widest of wide angle lenses. Pro-1 Circular Polarisers have 7 layers of coating on the rear surfaces and have a 5mm mount depth, and won't vignette with a 18mm lens.
