hello everyone,

first post here....this really is the best site on the internet for camera reviews and these forums are top notch. The S3 picture post thread has amazing pictures.

Anyway i was looking at getting a canon S3 once i get some money and i found this site that has new ones for dirt cheap. www.ccicameracity.com
Has anyone ever ordered from here? It seems like a pretty trusty site only downsite is 3-4 weeks until shipped and ground is like $30. Is this usually the case when shipping cameras?

CCICameraCity's one of the lower rated sites. They're a Brooklyn based camera reseller, probably selling gray market equipment. If it's gray market, the camera won't come with a US warranty and your only option will be to purchase a warranty from them. They'll also most likely call you before they ship the camera and try to hard-sell you the warranty, an aftermarket battery and other accessories. Also, why the 3-4 week delay on the shipping??? Are they claiming it's back-ordered? These things are red flags to me.

Do yourself a favor: Buy from a reputable retailer (Newegg, B&H, Buydig/Beach Camera, Crutchfield, et. al.). When you find what it's REALLY going to cost you to buy from one of these resellers, you'll discover it won't cost you much more to buy from a reputable retailer that offers customer service and peace of mind knowing that you're getting what you paid for.

How did you come to this conclusion? This company is part of Royal Camera and all the rating sites have awful reviews on them?
