Just added a blip on the blog about Samsung just releasing info on the GX-10 which is, in effect a Pentax K10d

Unless price is incredibly different i would prefer the Pentax just for brand sentimentality :)

You have to wonder about how they're going to market it. Some parts of the country prefer the Pentax name while others prefer Samsung? Can you buy them side by side at the same store? I guess it will be up to the retailers to some degree.

Samsung is consumer electroncs (in general) manufacturer and the Pentax is photo/optics manufacturer. So the Samsung' K10D could be found in the malls and the original Pentax - in the dedicated photo stores.

What country are you refering too??

For one in their home country (Korea) Samsung will sell plenty as their name will be much stronger than a Japanese companies name (Pentax)...

I'm in the USA. We have both Samsung products and Pentax readily available. I have a Samsung DLP as a matter of fact :) but I haven't seen any the Samsung dSLR's here yet.

Yeah... Looks like DA 12-24 has too much chromatic aberrations at fully opened aperture in such heavy lighting conditions.

That Samsung lens has different lens coatings to the original Pentax DA 12-24..
