Hi all,
If "Delete This File" is accidently selected from the dialog box of "Slide Show", can that file be restored?
I'm sure this question has been asked many times. My apologies for being a johnny-come-lately :(
Thanks,
Dennis

It depends on what FinePix viewer was "looking" at when the image was deleted. For example, it can create slide shows directly from the camera's memory card or from the place on your hard drive where you stored the uploaded images. Whatever it was, hard drive or memory card, the image WAS deleted.
But you can recover it provided first and foremost that you HAVEN'T saved anything else to the hard drive (if it was that) or taken more photos and stored them on the camera's card.
If you're OK in that respect, there are many utilities that will recover that image for you, including the one in Norton Utilities. There are plenty of others that you can find on the net (though most will cost you a few $s or £s or €s or whatver your currency is). They're often on a try-before-you-buy basis where the recovered image is rendered useless by virtue of a big splash across each one. It's to prove that it works before you have to buy it. There may be some freebies in which case I guess someone will post and let you know.
As I say though, it's crucial that you haven't saved anything since the deletion took place. If you have, though it's not impossible that you'll recover the picture without a problem, the chances are much reduced.

I haven't accidently deleted one yet, but it's just a matter of time until I do  I wish I could disable the "delete' button in the slide show dialog box. Oh well, life's full of hazards
Thanks for your reply,
Dennis
