Hi All,

Well....in terms of photos, this is a basic disaster story -

Yesterday a few friends gave me a 45th birthday party. I knew of the party and went out and bought a new camera - the T30/B. I loved it. Took lots of pictures with it before the party so I would know what I was doing. In addition, a friend of mine took the camera to take pics at the party and some videos.

The party was a success :>) and we got home to view all of the photos. EEKS!! Only about 20 photos came out and a few short videos. Otherwise, most of the photos taken didn't even register, even though when we took them it showed the pic taken in the view finder. So most of the photos were either not there and about 15 other pics were assigned file names but showed "0" in the size of the photo - so nothing showed up!!!!

Of course we're terribly disappointed and I want to throw the camera in the garbage - I have had many Sony sameras so I am at a loss.

The memory stick in the camera is a 2 GB Sony High Speed Duo Stick.

Does anyone have any ideas what on earth could have happened or what might be wrong?

Thank you in advance for all of your thoughts and suggestions.

Have you verified to ensure that some of the pics were not saved to the internal memory rahter than the stick?

I always check back from time to time as I'm snapping pics to see if they've been saved the stick. How are you reading and downloading the images from the memory stick? Could the issue be with your card reader/connection/laptop/PC????

I did in fact look back in the internal memory - no luck, they weren't there. The memory stick is working fine I think. I had used it before and went back and forth between camera and laptop to transfer pics. My Sony laptop has an internal slot in it for the Sony memory stick so it is a piece of cake usually.

I did notice that when I take a few photos - I see the photos taken and then the LCD turns dark blue - so it's still on - and I notice the light on the memory stick inside the camera is red - like it is still running or reading the stick.

This is a hint. Defective stick (card) or slot (camera).

Thank you so very much - the stick and the camera both worked fine before. Any thoughts on how to proceed from here? I am past the return date on the camera (although it is very new)

sorry, don't mean to be somewhat insistant, but..."worked fine before" doesn't mean anything.....your camera is still under warranty if you purchased it less than a year ago and still have the receipt....take it back to have it checked out or/and take some additional pics and see if those are "OK"...good luck....cheers.
