hi everyone there

I'd like to buy a nikon d80 through ebay. I saw I can save up to 300 euros buying it in hing kong. The point is that I have never purchased anything from ebay.

I know there might be problems with the warranty, but, thinking positive (I have to, I too bankrupt lately!!), I hope mine won't be the case.
The point is:

I am trully paranoid about putting money somewhere and not receiving anything. What kind of warranties one one have in this case?
Also, could anyone advice me a good and reliable powerseller?
I live in Italy.
Thanks a lot ;)

Boungiorno,

These guys have a good reputation http://stores.ebay.com/Hong-Kong-Supplies

Never purchased through ebay before? You're in for quite a treat. Pardon the sarcasm. :) Seriously though, depending how smart you shop, you may or may not have problems. But keep in mind that if you DO have problems with the item you buy, getting things resolved can be frustrating and near impossible. You need to consider if this is worth the extra money you are saving.

Only tip I can offer if you do go the ebay route is to only buy from people with insanely high positive feedback. Go for 100% if at all possible.

id have to concur with anitract
certainly ebay is a mix of bargains and bad deals

some of the HongKong dealers do facinating trade
buying second hand is riskier
some countries occasionaly have indiginous warranty only
there may be tax considerations when they land

there is no equal to holding the camera intended in the store
but if you live ruraly and are both wise/careful and lucky ebay can be good
