What would be a good lens to put on an older P&S that is just collecting dust. I have a few i thought about using the fuji FX10 since it has some effect things.

Could i just use any older 35mm lens?

No you can't. haven't we been over this many many months ago?
The camera needs to determine focus before it can make a photo. It does so by moving its AF motor. PROBLEM 1.

The focal point of the lens has to be a certain distance from the sensor, else you either overshoot "infinity focus" or you only get a close-up lens. PROBLEM 2.

Due to the extreme croip factor ANY lens including wide angle lenses will act as tele lens. This will not produce a usable camera. PROBLEM 3.

You can of course try what you want, but don't expect any serious advice form here.

When you take the lens off of a DSLR you can see the sensor, so why cant i tear down the camera to just the sensor and attach the same kind of lens? The focus wouldnt be the same?

The reason for using he 35mm lens is so i can focus it manualy, that stilil wont work?

What if i set the lens to infinity? then i could just move the lens closer or further from the sensor till it was in focus?

Doesnt the lens say its distance? like if i get a 50-200 lens i could calculate the distance?
