View Full Version : Has anyone noticed the price increases?

Maybe I'm just an hyperactive pricewatcher, but it seems our little gem (FZ20) has received such good reviews that all the internet retailers have jacked up the prices. Only a short while ago you could buy the FZ20 in black or silver at a low $480 at a reputable vender like Buydig or Beach camera. Now the price is a full $40 more in about 2 or 3 weeks! I'm unsure why this is happening but it's making me unhappy. When I started looking for a camera I set a budget of $500 and thought with the usual decline in camera prices, I would be able to get it and a high speed card for my budget price. The only thing I can think of is an increase in the prices before the holiday sales to make it seem like you are getting a deal. So what's the verdict all? Should I buy before it gets higher, or wait it out and push my patience to the max?

You won't get many pictures without a camera. How critical is $40? I would be willing to bet that the price comes down after the holidays, but who knows.

Nikon is now offering a $100 rebate on the D70. Had I waited for the cost reduction I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the camera for the past 7 months. Do I care? Not a bit.
