Is anyone besides me excited about this new camera? I had a C-750 for two years, and except for the ridiculously long shutter-lag, it really was a great camera and took absolutely beautiful pictures!

I gave it away and bought a Canon Powershot S2 IS, which had better specs, (12x optical zoom and image stabilization) but I was very unhappy with it. Gave it away after only 3 months.

So here I am looking for the best UZI I can get for under $700 and the SP-510 appears on the horizon. If anyone has an early version or knows of pix from the camera somewhere on the web, let us know ASAP!

Hi phreno,

I have used the SP-500UZ and the quality of pictures taken in daylight was great. However, pictures taken in low light were not as good as expected, they were all blurry and noised due to lack of image stabilizatiion. The SP-510 UZ is an upgraded version of SP-500UZ with digital image stabilizatiion, hope that it could get better quality. In the mean time, you could visit www.dpreview.com to get sample photos and review for SP-500UZ. Besides dcresource.com, I would recommend you this site, it is always one of the fastest reviewers.

What didn't you like about the S2? If you want to give away any more cams, I'd like one please.
