View Full Version : Field of view of different focal lengths on 1.6x crop factor

Since lately there are a number of questions on how wide 24mm or 18mm or 16mm or 12mm is, I made few very ugly photos (then the beauty of the photo can not distract;) ) to show the difference in field of view in focal lengths that you often see with zoom lenses.
12, 16, 18, 24, 28, 35, 50mm. With a 1.6x crop factor camera (EOS 350D).

Maybe it is an idea to make this thread a sticky one, and to make similar examples for 1.5x crop, 1.3x crop, full frame and 2x crop factor sensors.

might be cool if you screen shot that area on google maps sat image and mark where you were stanging when you took the shots

Haha, that is a nice idea Scott6. I live in the Netherlands and I am not sure they have detailed maps like of the US, but I will take a look sometime.
