Reading the S2 tips thread I see reference to an image-sharpening control: users are advised against strong sharpening. I can't find anything to control sharpening on my new S3IS: is it there somewhere?

Thanks!

When yo go to my colors, or where the color effects setting is you go to custom. or "C" then its in there.

Thanks! So by default there is no or minimal postprocessing for sharpness, unless one has chosen to invoke the MyColors effects?

I think so, i think its just neutral or somthing.

I have wondered about the tweaks in the camera if some of the users in teh S3 thread arnt tweaking some of the settings here and there to get the amazing shots they are posting in there. Not sure no one will give up any of their secrets. :(

I think those who do change or use the custom color settings change them according to there personal taste and shooting style. I actually tone down most of the time.

Hey Bower- I have my colors set as follows- Saturation- PLUS 1. Sharpness- PLUS 1. and Contrast-PLUS 1. And these values are reflected in my exif data on Flickr. as well as ISO (I remember someone complaining ISO didn't show in Exif data) If you up the saturation a little it will help give a more "polarizing" effect and this is the secret some people hold who do not have CP filters. If i'm taking a picture of the sky i may adjust Vivivd blue, but i rarely take the time to do so, being that Saturation makes the color vivid enough..

Some people back-off the red channel one notch when there's a lot of red in the shot, because sometimes the reds can "bleed" or "bloom" a little...
