Alright, the other night while tossing a few back at my friends house he asked me to take a couple of shots of his dog Buddy. I got a couple good ones, but this is the only one I have processed so far using my newly purchased Kubota Image tools. One thing I had issues with is the golden/green eye that happened on the dog. I shot these with the on camera flash so it was bound to happen. Can anyone give me an easy way for an EXTREME Photoshop novice to dump the doggie demon eyes??

C&C welcomed

30D + 50mm 1.8 @ f/2.0, ISO 500, Exposure 1/40, Manual, flash

BTW, probably the last shots that will be taken with the 50 1.8. Picked up the 1.4 today!!!

I like it!!! My small suggestion is to clone out the bright thing in the lower left corner, it's a lil distracting.

As for the "demon eyes," maybe you could try the Red Eye tool in CS2. It's under the bandaid icon in the Tool palette. Click that, then click on the eyes.

Tried that. Unfortunately, it only seems to work on human eyes. Everytime I tried it, it put the black spot in the brown part of the eye. Maybe it's picking up some red hues in there. It doesn't seem to identify "golden eye." I did try the patch tool by pulling over to a blackish area, but then I lose the glint. There has got to be an easy way...

Ah I think this will work better: Blow it up to 200% (Ctrl +) and clone stamp (select in Tool palette, reduce brush size to 5 px maybe, Alt left click on clone source once, then many right clicks to stamp) from the inner brown area all over the "demon" area except for the catchlight.

Hands down the best way to prevent this - Get a hot shoe flash and bounce.

Hands down the best way I've come across to fix this - Paint shop Pro - They have a Demon eye removal tool, much like human red eye removal tools, but for animals! It worked great too with my A95 flash photos of Cooper. Download the free trial and try it to fix all your images. . . then make sure you have a hot shoe flash before the trial expires! ;)

Ofcourse ^ that works mighty fine too I suppose [re: your image above]

use lasso to loosely select the "demon eye green". You don't have to be perfect here. Hold shf while selecting the 2nd eye, that way you adjust both eyes at the same time. Once selected then ctl+shf+j to dup to a new layer. Ctl+U to bring up hue/saturation. Lower saturation & lightness till you get the desired effect.

Here is my try.

I have a Photoshop plugin called Andromeda Redeye Pro. It lets you eyedropper select the problem color. I think I had to pay for the plugin though. It's not perfect but it's fast and it retains the luminance of the eyes.
