A friend showed me a small wide angle lens for her SD-series camera that simply stuck to the metal ring around the lens via magnets. She said it produced fairly good results, and allowed for more wide angle and macro. I only got a quick look at the lens and didn't see a brand name. She got it at a camera store in NYC for around $99.
Anyone seen these, or have comments on possible quality of these lenses?

BowerR64, when you posted this picture awhile ago, I thought it was a joke that you had photoshopped together....

Why am I not surprised that you would have one of these? :) Does it have a brand name? What do you think of the photo quality?
I was pretty sure that she got ripped off, but I didn't want to mention it to her.

They have all the lenses for a phone, i think they will work on a security camera or a webcam also. The opening on the end is actualy pretty big. I do get vignetting but my camera has a zoom on it (the phone camera) so if i use the zoo it goes away. I just got it for the novelty and pictures, its a funny picture isnt it? lol :p

search phone lens and there are a few on e-bay selling them. There is a kit that has some other wacky lenses too. I think if you search cell phone lens or somthing there are like heart lenses, stars, cross filter lenses all kinds of different one you can put on a cell phone to get some neat low quality shots. lol
The one i got is good quality though, i was really suprised. Its acutaly made of metal and has a glass lens. The effect ones are plastic i think.

I dono if you can see this, but if you look at the lens in the light just right you can get a reflection of lights in the room and you can see the coatings on the glass. I think if you see more colors the more coatings it has. I think better lenses do this. I know all the good lenses i have are like this.
