Has anyone tried out the S3 Shortcourses book on www.shortcourses.com? It seems some people on dpreview are praising the S3 book, but part of that might have to do with the fact that there aren't many S3-specific books around, so any S3 book is good.

Also, has anyone tried out the Photoshop book they have? I'm new to PS and a novice at image editing and want to learn how to do the essentials and then some.

I think I'm going to try out their S3 book but wanted to save on shipping if the PS book is informative as well. Will I be wasting my money? Are there better PS intro books around? Btw, do the color e-books have the exact same content as the printed copies?

TIA. :)

Like how much is the book dude maybe I need to write one. lol If you notice at the top of this section is a DCRP S2 IS Tips thread which for all intent and purposes covers the S3 also. Anything beyond that you could always ask someone here.

It's really hard to imagine how the book could really offer that much more than what's in the manual already. I mean: what are there- easter eggs?

Following an S2 link provded elsewhere here and searching around a bit led me to this site, (http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/pss3is/components-e.html) which seems to be a handy reference if nothing else.

I bought it and it tells you in clear language how to do whatyou want to do. Something the Canon manual NEVER gets right. On the down side, it has too much info about photography in genereal, DoF, color, shooting techniques, etc. that I do not need to learn. For the download, i think it's $15, you;d probably be happy. I learned a thing or two. I give it 7 out of 10. YMMV
