The first one is brilliant Christian - although I think you could use a little fill flash strategically placed under the bridge :p
Good work!
Was that all pre-cropped? :D
LOL. Amazing. You got talent man-o-man.
The third has some fringing around the bright light. Unavoidable I imagine.
Brilliant colors, wonderful conpositions. You getting in the post-card business?

Cropped in camera Vich - I'm a pro you know!:p :D
Just giving the students something to aim at. Shots like these are a dime a dozen in the shops - don't know how the business case would stack up?

Very nice images, Christian, I like the first one best. There's a streaking meteor or plane to go with it. :D

nice work cw, I look forward to getting some of my own in November (coming up for a wedding)...
I did get some daytime pics on the bridge itself, also get harrased by the security guards..

They said we can take photos looking off the bridge, but not of the structure itself, esp. if you can see the location of security cameras in the photo....
This is the photo I took that he tried to make me delete (as you can see I refused)

What a load of crap. It would be nice if these 'security' guards actually knew the law for a change...

Not to mention that anyone with a 1200 lens would get any shot they wanted from out of eye sight of the guards:mad:

I Need A Tripod
I know this hobby can be a never-ending wallet deflator, but Man there are some crap tripods around - and most of the students in my classes seem to have them!:(
They're flimsy, awkward to use, and the biggest common problem seems to be the crappy plastic quick-release plates which are impossible to tighten enough to give a firm grip to the camera.
My advice: buy something decent or buy nothing.

I was looking at a Velbon 450R??
Unless you know where a cheap deal can be had on a Manfrotto:D
You know you want to upgrade you tripod, dont you mate:p

I do actually. Have my eye on the venerable Gitzo 1325 Mountaineer. My 055 is getting tired.
Is this the Velbon you mean?:

The legs look fine but the head has me worried - particularly that generic QR plate...

I don't have much to add other than nice photos as always CW. :)
As for tripods, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of my Amvona Dynatran AT-858. Are there better? Of course. But this one's solid enough for me. It's a Manfrotto clone basically....and uses the same QR plates.

I bought mine from them on eBay. Much cheaper that way. Shipping is the same for you (~$75) but by bidding you can save a bundle on the tripod itself.
The one I have:
