Ideas, advice, and C&C welcome. They want a few photos for a brochure. This was an exploratory shoot.
(note: 27 photo gallary here (http://FLASHME.smugmug.com/gallery/1820212/1/90939911), just to see how the shop shoots, what works etc., but I wouldn't expect anyone to want to view a 27 photo gallary  ).

I believe you need more light on the art work.

Vich! You've got some nice shots there but I don't think you can rely on the existing light scheme in the store. You're basically talking about shooting architectural interiors here (along with some product shots of the clothes) and that's a whole art unto itself. I'm no expert but strategically placed flashes/strobes throughout the length of the store along with dragging the shutter to burn in the existing lights (and using a tripod of course) I think are all orders of the day. You can also get low GN flash slaves that fit into standard light sockets that might also be helpful. Something like this: http://www.adorama.com/SV45I.html?searchinfo=flash%20slave

Thanks Peter.
I'm a little over my head on this. Was out doing street photography and was close to loosing outside light anyway, then this couple who owned the shop practically begged to have photos. So, no tripod, no flash, figured on taking a bunch of shots to see how the place photographed (screen test ...).
Told them it's out of my depth and they need a pro, but it's a fun project. I'm out on accepting money for it (as they insisted). Also for them spending money on equipement rentals that I don't know how to use. But again, it's worth a try and if they insist on using amature photos, at least I'll try my amature best.:o Thanks for the tips on cheap lighting stuff.
It's not really my area of interest (interior archetecture), but it should be educational.
Oh, forgot to mention, they said they have a very pretty friend who would model (amature all the way). You're more than welcome to drop in and take that one if you wish (Newport Beach).

Vich, I got a little confused after looking at the gallery. Were you asked to shoot their merchandise or their shop? Or both?

I'm up for it. It would be nice to meet you (and maybe ReF) and hang in OC. (I actually have another potentilal OC model and one SD model so maybe I'll have them join us.)

I'm confused too. I think the shop. They want to "capture the spirit of the shopping experience". They want a nice shot of themselves, etc.
Don't think it's a big deal, but they had made stept towards hiring a pro but "didn't like his energy". So they're serious about something.

Great! I'll contact them and extend your interest. Yeah, that'll be exciting. We could get some lights, reflectors, fancy models, etc.
Forgot to mention they also wanted a nice photo of themselves. She wants to get her hair and face done and wear something nice from the shop. Maybe advice on outfit and colors are in order. Again, I'm out of my depth and hopefully can take more of a back seat on this thing.:o
