Phone camera's keep getting better and better (tough quality is still average) so I was wondering if this kind of digital camera's could be reviewed too (only the camera part of the mobile phone).
Good idea or not

Personally, I don't think that's a great idea at the moment. My wife has a phone camera which is fixed focus, fixed aperture, doesn't have a flash. Essentially although it does produce a good VGA image, it is primitive.
Phone cameras are essentially phones with cameras tacked on - handy in an emergency but not great photographically. I don't envisage this as changing as people buy phones with the intention of making phonecalls.
It's a bit like a clock review - just about anything has a clock built in now. Would somebody buying a clock to tell the time be interested in these dinky little built-in clocks - nope. People want a nice-looking easily read clock on their mantlepiece.

Not every camera phone is like that, eg the Samsung D900, 3MP, autofocus, white balance setting, ISO settings, Led "flash", ...
I've even seen phone camera's with a macro function on it  .
Camera phones are going the same path as p&s camera's used to go. The first digicams were QVGA or VGA resolution, completely fixed lens and had hardly no settings. Thinges are quite different right now (gladly :D ).

CAMERA PHONE REVIEW! WHAT!!!!!
THIS IS 'REAL CAMERA' SITE.
Now... seriously......... The way it goes, as camera phones get better and better, they will surely take wipe out the entry level digital cameras out of the market.
So, there can be camera phone reviews in here in the next few years?
But personally, I won't be reading such reviews if they appear now.

real camera site hu ? Don't forget this site began with camera's that were as good as phone camera's.
I mean, check out these pictures: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-wilma-3-en.shtml, some of them look very good.
Like this (http://www.mobile-review.com/review/image/sonyeric/wilma/photo/k800-01.jpg) (k800i) or maybe this (http://www.mobile-review.com/review/image/sonyeric/wilma/photo/k750-10.jpg) (k750i) one.
But this site is about cameras not phone with cameras tacked on.
If Jeff were to review phone cameras then he'd be reviewing telephones not cameras. Also if he were to review phone cameras because they have cameras tacked on then he would also get called on to review web cameras and so on. I say it's fine as it is although the market may change in the future.
Well, if we are going to add phone cameras, maybe camcorders should be reviewed as well. I mean, can take stills with mine...;)

Exactly - when the main purpose of a Phone-Camera is to take photos then it will probably be reviewed. While its main purpose is to make phonecalls it won't.
Incidentally some people have cars with better sound systems than most discoteques. Are they to be reviewed in a car magazine because they're cars or as entertainment venues by the pub guide?
Same here - the main function is important and not the subsidiary function.

I agree. If Jeff wants to review cameraphones (which I doubt he does), that's fine. I certainly wouldn't waste my time reading them though. And if he were to review them, people would expect reviews on every function of the camera...not just the phone part.
If they become good enough/worth reviewing, maybe a website will crop up that is specifically catering to them.
