Canon EOS Rebel K2

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to photography and wanted an opinion on this Canon slr. I'm on a tight budget and this camera seems to fit my needs, but I want some personal opinions towards this camera, and this forum seems to do pretty well with those. The camera that im looking at comes with a 28-90mm II USM lens. Is this lens a decent lens to get with this camera? Also could anyone tell me whether this camera is better than the Nikon N55? That slr comes with a 28-80. The Canon is a little cheaper than the Nikon, but all I really want to know is whether one is better than the other, or is it just personal opinion? From what I understand, the fact that is it coming with a USM lens is very good! And preferable to the EF lenses. How much (If you don't mind my asking) is it being sold for?

Otherwise, as far as specs go, I do not know unfortunately...If you had specs for both, post them and I am sure someone can tell you something.
