Anyone have any idea about how the announcement of the XTi will effect the 20/30D prices? The XTi is almost perfect, but I think I need to go with the 30D for the increased burst mode.

No effect. The only price drops announced were for the XT, and frankly, Canon already dropped the price on the XT to $699/$799 a few weeks ago already.

You don't even think a possible drop in demand for 20/30D could cause retail price cuts?

I doubt it. The 400D has some great stuff, but it still doesn't deter some buyers from going for the 20D and 30D. There's a lot to be said for the improved body, ergonomics and burst rate. As great as the 400D sounds, if I were to buy a DSLR today (and for the sake of the argument, let's say I could get a 400D right away), I would still go for the 30D.

Yeah I'd like to go for the 30D, but it's a $400 price difference for a not very expanded feature set. It's just the $@%# 5 FPS burst mode that I was hoping for on the XTi.

...the price for the 30D has just dropped down to $1195 at B & H for the body.

That's not what I'd call a price drop. First of all, Buydig.com has had that price (or better) for months already, and I'm talking about a real price drop of $100. The psaug code was already getting you $1219 at B&H too, so that's.. 25 dollars?

What's the psaug code? A discount code I can use?
