I had a question about red eye. I've heard some complaints about red eye with the new S60. How does it compare with the S45 and S50 as far as red eye is concerned? How often do you get red eye with the S60? Any suggestions to keep from getting it or to get rid of it?

This is quoted from Jeff Keller, founder of this site, regarding correcting redeye:

"What are your options? Take the shot again. Add more lighting to the room. Remove it in software."

Hope that helps.

Or, get one of those handle-mount slave flashes...

I have an S400, an S500 and an S60. I get red-eye with all three, probably because the lens is so close to the flash. Most software programs have red-eye removal tools, but some are better than others. When I use ACDSee I can usually remove even the worst red eye. I wouldn't let red-eye be a deal breaker when choosing a camera.
